Tikz or pstricks? I prefer Tikz....
One reason is that I can compile by PDFLatex and can include png pictures easily. I am not sure if this is a good reason or not, since I am still learning......
I can also use Tikz inline drawing. Here is an example:
See that attached picture for the effects. The arrow can be arbitrarily long!
